Infine, ma non ultimo, l'altra esclusiva del prossimo Sombrero. Dave, oltre a suonare il basso nel gruppo del buon Pallino, e un ottimo dj e promoter. Organizza un ottimo allighter reggae in Olanda, che si chiama Endless Memories. Non perdetevelo, al Sombrero Club !!!!!!

My DJ carreer started in Tokyo, Japan the year was probably 2009, it wasn't a proper DJ gig, it was more a 60 minute selection of a few records I bought on that holiday, staple tunes I still have to this day like Sufferer, Loving Reggae, Bigger Boss, Bangarang Crash etc. etc.
Back in the Netherlands I started playing proper gigs and since that time I've been spinning at places all over Holland, Germany and Belgium.
In 2011, Rob "The Night Doctor" started Endless Memories and asked me to join in and now together we arrange annual parties of Endless Memories serving only the tastiest Jamaican Oldies and bringing in interesting DJs for the audience's pleasure. My weapons of music mostly consist of Early Reggae and Rocksteady with Ska tunes making themselves heard every now and then.

OSPITI DEL SOMBRERO CLUB: SIMON "DJ TIPPA"

Un ospite che abbiamo fortemente voluto, direttamente da Birmingham, Simon "Dj Tippa". Come al solito, lo sapete, al Sombero vengono dj che spaccano, che non sono mai venuti in Italia, e Simon spacca, ve lo assicuro. Ma basta inutili parole, il 23 marzo faremo palare solo la musica!!!!!

I first started dj ing in the early nineties mainly scooter type events, playing a wide variety of ska & soul sounds. Then I was resident dj in a Mod Club in Birmingham for 5 years playing ska soul & r&b, all the club classics. Late nineties I used to play the very early Reggae Train nights on I.O.W. scooter rally and played the last one last year. Also I was one of the original Scorcher djs back in the late nineties .I now only play a few times a year but still pack a box of delights to entertain, old favorites such as Uncle Joe, Hold Down, Dig It Up, and I have been fortunate enough to Dj with The original Skatalites again many years ago, on several occassions. Now I mainly play Reggae and Rocksteady with the odd choice Ska selection now and again . But lets wait till the night it will be real dynamite from all involved .

OSPITI DEL SOMBRERO CLUB: FABRIZIO PALLINO

Fabrizio, o Pallino, è un caro amico pugliese, Mod, che da qualche anno vive ad Amsterdam. Oltre a mettere dischi a diverse serate ad Amsterdam, e non solo, suona anche in diversi gruppi, tra cui uno che a me piace davvero tanto, ma ne parla nella sua Bio. Era da molto che volevo invitarlo al Sombrero, ed ora è giunto il suo momento.

I’m a dedicated Mod-ernist since 1979, always been a very active member of the scene.
Musician, I sing and play guitar with the Amsterdam-based R&B band Working Voodoo Club. Long experience as dj, spinning records everywhere in Europe, from Italy to UK, Germany, Denmark, and of course Holland, where I live since 2000. My main genres include R&B, Mod-Jazz, Boogaloo, Early Soul.
My main goal as dj is to have a packed dancefloor with everybody dancing their head off ‘till dawn!
It is very difficult for me to make a top 5, as I consider all my records massive floorfillers…(yes I am very mod-est…;-) so here’s just 5 of my latest purchases, for your listening pleasure…however there’s so much more in my dj box!
